public speaking
Gangstalicious asked:

I must take the course of commincation I'm not 101 during the university now that I am forced to deal with it if I want to graduate. Odio aversion aversion to giving speeches. I haven 't a date because I was in the level of Jr. And that' s where I had the horrible experience doing so. This @ sshole in my class has decided that he was going to mess up because I had chosen to make the accreditation extra just in case. Really screwed him over because he was telling jokes about while I was giving the urghhhhhh of speech. Thanx to God I made the accreditation of additional or dell'stato solenoid. So does anyone have tips on public speaking.

    rehearse alot in front of a mirror, it will make you more confident and you will have your speech better memorized for when you get tripped up. Did you know more people are afrain of public speaking than dying? That means most people would rather die than public speak. Good Luck .

    I have the same problem with public speaking, my face goes red and I start laughing uncontrollably. The only tip that I have is not to look, don’t try to imagine the audience in their underwear, that doesn’t work. You should try memorizing what you have to say and when you do speak just imagine that you’re trying to remember it and you aren’t speaking yet.

    You have low self-esteem and a poor self-image. Blaming another for your failure is a common tactic to avoid responsibility for the failure. Work on developing a better self-image by using positive self-talk and constructive motivation. Get out of the habit of blaming others for your shortcomings, and quit feeling sorry for yourself!

    For some people public speaking is really painful, which is very difficult for others to understand. I think for the most part most people are “uncomfortable” in some way, at least when they first start out, but there are certainly degrees of fear. There are, however, a few tricks that I’ve learned along the way. First, it really is true that practicing makes a big difference, not only for the effectiveness of your talk but also just comfort level. When you are confident about what you are talking about, you’ll experience less anxiety because you’ll not be worrying so much if they know you’re uncertain. The other tip is that self-deprecation goes a long way. Don’t take yourself too seriously while you’re in front of the audience. There’s *nothing* worse than a defensive speaker; it’s uncomfortable for both the speaker and the audience. (I take that back, reading from note cards or a paper in front of you is much worse.) Also, if you’re doing a PPT presentation, avoid text-heavy slides or too many cute animations or images, although brief clips or photos to help you get your point across will help to keep them engaged. Based on the intensity of your phobia, I’m guessing you have some degree of social anxiety. It may be worhwhile talking to your physician about this; in certain cases a sample of xanex might be prescribed to prevent debilitating anxiety attacks. But this is a risk as it may make you too sleepy for a public speech and you would need to be very careful about developing a dependence. There are good natural alternative supplements that are also useful for quick relaxation, such as GABA, which you can find at any health food store in the amino acids section. Good luck! I know it’s easy for me to say, but really it’s not such a big deal…
