are in a public speaking class and I have to think of a "how to" speech / expansive one. I'm not good at cooking, or arts and crafts, to kind of want to stay from those. anyone got any suggestions? FEW THINGS would be laudatory. thanks so much

Potting/repotting a plant. You can go to the library and get a book on this topic. Easy to do, and most people will have a plant at least one time in their life. You can talk about bugs,,,aphids…and what to do to kill them…as well as watering habits. etc.

Do a demonstration speech on how to ‘Read and Remember.’

My oldest attendee, a 67 year old woman was so excited when I saw her a few days after the speech. She tried it and it worked. She thought it was just her memory going.

It will work even better if the audience has something simple to read along with you. If you have a Power Point or KeyNote presentation, all the better.

They will also need a piece of paper. These can be given as hand outs.

The reason, it will be easier to comprehend if they do it with you.

This is so powerful because it works. And when those who use it get better grades and their study time decreases, they will have you to thank.

Oh yes, it is always good to give attribution when public speaking.

So if you like it and use it, give a plug to the author. This way you will look as though your well researched in your lecture. This also gives the audience a chance to read more on the topic.

    Best wishes…
